This pic is after my sister and I walked 3 miles in 88 degrees at 8pm. It was a hot one yesterday, and sadly today is suppose to be even hotter. But, I am making progress, therefore, I shall not complain!
I weighed in this morning and FINALLY broke the 219 plateau I was at for a few weeks, I hit 217.4. Slowly over the course of 2 years, I have lost a total of 34 pounds, 25 of which just sort of went away when I started taking my thryroid medicine regularly, and the almost 9 pounds I have worked really hard at losing.
I have bumped up my workeouts to about 5-6 a week at the gym, at least 2-3 walks with my sister, and 1-2 days of yoga. I was talking with my sister and husband this evening, and I really contribute any success I am having to using two iphone apps. "Mapy My Walk" and "My Fitness Pal". These apps sync with one another, therefore any exercises I put into Map My Walk transfers over to My Fitness Pal, and helps me watch my caloric intake/out put. I really do think that these apps are what keeps me motivated. I can see everything, how much I have eaten, how much I have burned, how many miles I have gone, how many hours I have worked out, they are awesome. At the end of each week, Map My Walk will email a weekly report, and I am so competitive, even with myself, I try to one up the previous week, every week. I am hoping to get a tracking device that will help me track even more, but right now money is tight, this is a luxury that will have to wait.
I did not take all my measurements yet this week, but I did take my waist, it is now 38, my thigh is 24, and my bicep is the same at 14.5.
I have also started to drink lemon water 2-3 times a day, One time a day I add 1 teaspoon of honey and 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the lemon water. The honey and cayenne pepper are suppose to help boost metabolism, and I truly do think it works. I know for a fact that the lemon water has helped keep stomach bloating and any irregularities away. I still incorporate spinach into at least one meal or snack a day, but the lemon water is an added boost.
I am hoping to lose at least 5 more pounds by 7/1/14, I'm going on vacation with family and wanna be able to keep up on the hiking trails in the smoky mountains!
Until next week, be blessed, and keep on keeping on!
